The story Aarẹ Kúrunmí Ìjàyè is a well known story covered by historian scholars. Kurunmi was a worior who doubles as an army general of the Old Oyo empire. He stood for culture and tradition of the Yoruba race, he fought in many wars to safeguard the Yoruba race. The story was narrated during the Yoruba Wikimedians User Group Storytelling Event in Lagos State, Nigeria, by Oyindamola Idris Olasupo (Asiwaju Sugar) a storyteller, and a radio presenter. This audiovisual was recorded in Onikan Lagos,, a city in Lagos State of Nigeria on the 22nd of May 2026.
