When the Earth Trembled (1913).webm

When the Earth Trembled , with English intertitles. 2015 restoration by EYE Filmmuseum and the San Francisco Silent Film Festival. This restoration is based on the three known surviving elements of the film: a tinted nitrate print with Dutch intertitles preserved at EYE Filmmuseum, a black-and-white preservation negative with Dutch intertitles preserved at the Museum of Modern Art, and a black-and-white preservation negative with English intertitles preserved at the British Film Institute. Intertitles are from the BFI print. Missing intertitles, marked with "2015", are reconstructed by translating the Dutch intertitles from the EYE print and MoMA negative. Tinting is based on the colors of the EYE print and notations from the BFI negative.
