Jennifer Takeshita, Teledyne Brown Engineering, Discusses Building the Adapter for the Space Launch System Rocket
Review conditions
In these video clips, Jennifer Takeshita, the Teledyne Brown Engineering manufacturing lead for the launch vehicle stage adapter explains how the company built the adapter that is part of NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. Teledyne Brown Engineering in Huntsville, Alabama built the adapter at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville. On July 17, the Marshall move team transported the adapter for the Artemis I SLS launch vehicle to the Pegasus barge. The launch vehicle stage adapter connects the rocket’s two stages: the core stage and the Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage. This is the last piece of SLS rocket hardware built at Marshall set for delivery to Kennedy Space Center in Florida in preparation of the Artemis I mission to the Moon.
