Electrodynamic Dust Shield: Heading to the Moon on Firefly's Blue Ghost Mission 1

An innovative technology developed at NASA's Kennedy Space Center is preparing for its journey to the Moon as part of Firefly's Blue Ghost Mission 1. The Electrodynamic Dust Shield (EDS) will be delivered aboard the Blue Ghost One lunar lander on the next Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) flight. Designed to tackle the persistent challenge of lunar dust, the EDS is a groundbreaking solution that could transform the way we explore and operate on the Moon. In this video, Dr. Joe Toth explains the science behind the EDS and its critical role in advancing NASA’s Artemis campaign. The Blue Ghost flight, carrying 10 NASA science and technology instruments, will launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
