Hiram Halle
IN COPYRIGHT
Hiram Halle, an American oil magnate, sat for Epstein in 1934. Halle had lent Epstein money because the sculptor had spent a great deal on his collection of primitive art. Epstein was so pleased with the humanity in Halle's face, that he made a copy of this portrait for himself.
