Oslavy desetiletého jubilea republiky v Praze

Rok 1928 - to je především rok desátého výročí vzniku Československé republiky. K tomuto významnému jubileu se konalo v Praze několik slavností. - Místo pod Emauzy bylo vybráno pro pomník obětem Pražanů ve světové válce. Slavnostní poklep základního kamene provedli primátor Karel Baxa, ministr národní obrany František Udržal a politik Jiří Pichl. - Na Mariánském náměstí byla vystavěna budova městské knihovny. - Na Náměstí míru byl položen základní kámen pomníku národního osvobození. Akce se zúčastnili vinohradský starosta Otto Pavlík, primátor Karel Baxa, politici Jiří Pichl a Jan Šrámek. - V Krči byl otevřen sociální ústav Masarykovy domov y. - Na Malostranském náměsti byl odhalen pomník francouzského politika a historika Ernesta Denise. Slavnost se konala za účasti prezidenta Masaryka a ministra Edvarda Beneše - Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk se setkal na Pražském hradě s dětmi pražských škol. - V tomto jubilejním roce byly též otevřeny dva nové mosty: Libeňský a Trojský. - Vyznamné pražské budovy byly v noci osvětleny. The year 1928 - it is above all marked by celebrations of the tenth anniversary of foundation of the Czechoslovak Republic. There were several ceremonies organized in Prague to celebrate this event. - The location "pod Emauzy" was chosen for placing the Memorial to the Fallen Praguers in World War I. Ceremony tapping of the foundation stone was made by the City Mayor Karel Baxa, by the Minister of the National Defence, František Udržal, and by a politician Jiří Pichl. - The City's Library was built on the Mariánské Square as a part of the celebrations. - On Náměstí Míru there was a foundation stone laid down to the Memorial of the National Liberation. The event was attended by the Vinohrady Mayor, Otto Pavlík, by the City Mayor, Karel Baxa, and by politicians Jiří Pichl and Jan Šrámek. - In Krč there was opened a social institution called the Masaryk´s Homes. - On the Malostranské Square there was unveiled the Memorial of the French politicians and historian, Ernest Denis. The ceremony was attended by President Masaryk and by the Minister Edvard Beneš - Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk met with children from Prague schools in the Prague Castle. - In this jubilee year there were also two new bridges opened in Prague: the Libeňský Bridge and the Trojský Bridge. - Significant buildings in Prague were illuminated at night.
